A documentary about the price of appearance. No verdict, camera close to the face.
A film about contemporary beauty standards, aesthetic medicine, and the thin line between self-care and dependence on an ideal. We give a voice to people who choose to undergo procedures, and set it against an expert layer: aesthetic-medicine doctors, dermatologists, cosmetologists, lawyers and psychologists. The camera doesn't judge — it observes and questions.
Context and idea

A project initiated in 2022 by the aesthetic-medicine community, who came to us with a problem, not a ready-made thesis: growing image pressure, uneven levels of professional responsibility, and legal gaps around who is allowed to perform procedures and under what rules. Two years of gathering material and conversations closed with a 2024 premiere.
( Idea )
We're not making a film against procedures, nor one that advertises them. We're making a film about a decision: what a person gets in exchange for what they give up. Two layers run in parallel — personal and expert — and neither cancels out the other. The viewer leaves with a question, not a verdict.

Full responsibility for the project on KOVA's side — from the first conversation with a protagonist to the cinema screen.

A talk with the filmmaker right after the screening — the film as the start of a conversation, not its end.

A difficult subject made it to the big screen.
The project was initiated in 2022 by the aesthetic-medicine community. Two years of work on the material, full production responsibility on KOVA's side. 22 March 2024 — premiere at Dolnośląskie Centrum Filmowe in Wrocław, with the filmmaker's conversation with the audience right after the screening.
